Exploring the Innovative Uses of Solar Shading in Greenhouse Crop Production

Description

An increasing variety of agricultural and horticultural products are now grown indoors in greenhouses. For this purpose, the operators must create an optimal growing condition, using artificial lighting, heating and cooling. Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are the advanced third generation solar cells. It can provide a unique opportunity for growing certain crops by selecting transmission of certain wavelengths. The objective of this project is to develop and evaluate an innovative DSSC solar shading system for uses in intensive greenhouse agriculture.
