Thesis Topic/Title:
Wicked problems of equity in education
Description
Connected to deeply entrenched human values and attitudes, ‘wicked’ problems are more than complex or messy. They are unstructured, unbounded, multidisciplinary and inextricably linked to politics, equity and professionalism. Students are encouraged to select a wicked problem related to any aspect of equity in education, and explore its diffuse and dynamic nature. Problems and resolutions are often interconnected and co-evolutionary, so there is opportunity for students to recontextualise educational challenges and how they are defined and approached. We encourage the use of qualitative methodology and critical theories.
