Thesis Topic/Title
Designing an Oral Interface for Academic Writing

For this thesis topic, we look at what would be required for researchers, academics and postgraduate students to 'write' an academic paper through speech alone. We aim to enable equal opportunity to outputting scholarship activities for those with a disability, access limitations or time factors that impact their ability to output scholarly research. The thesis research may involve consideration of the design requirements and/or implementation of a speech-to-text translation tool that includes academic output tools that could manage the title and body of the text, as well as heading levels, references, foot/end notes and different reference formats (APA, Harvard etc), and journal and conference formats.
